who is zograf?

Aleksandar Zograf (the pen name of Saša Rakezić) is a Serbian cartoonist, who began publishing his comics in 1980s Yugoslavia.

Zograf has been active on the international scene since the early 1990s, when his work started to appear in U.S. comics anthologies such as Weirdo and Zero Zero, and when Seattle's Fantagraphics Books published his titles, such as Life Under Sanctions and Psychonaut...

JANUARY – DECEMBER 2025

A story about student protests in Serbia by Aleksandar Zograf was published in the Italian weekly magazine Internazionale, and later on portals in the U.S., France and the Netherlands.

JANUARY – DECEMBER 2025

June marked Zograf’s major exhibition, which occupied three levels of the former Cinema Balkan in the very center of Belgrade. The main focus of the exhibition was his dream comics.
